This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates. We are looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer with a passion for engineering, a high degree of accountability and ability to thrive in a team environment as a part of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet Avionics Systems team in Commercial Systems. A wide variety of systems engineering tasks will be required as the program continues its extensive flight test campaign and initial certification. This may include becoming the program systems lead engineer for a domain. This clean-sheet aircraft design continues to present engineering challenges every day for Rockwell Collins and our customer. Someone who thrives under pressure, thinks of innovative solutions to problems, and can make sense out of chaos will excel in this position.

The system engineering duties will span the entire development lifecycle, from systems design through systems testing.

Job Responsibilities

* Support completion of Certification artifacts, including Systems Certification Summary, TSO Compliance/Deviation reports, and process compliance.

* Participate in customer audits for ARP-4754A

* Capture requirements from customer design change proposals

* Develop systems architecture and human-machine interface requirements for design changes

* Create test procedures to verify requirements

* Serve as a Domain Focal for Onboard Maintenance Systems

* Support customer questions/investigate issues related to hardware DO-160 qualification

* Support engineering cost estimate activities

* Investigate root cause of issues discovered during flight test

* Lead cross-functional team development which includes customer stakeholders to subsystem engineers

* Communicate both orally and written with other engineers, technicians, pilots and management

* Familiarity with ARP-4754A is a benefit

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline

* Must have experience capturing systems requirements

* Must have experience with system integration and test

Additional skills a plus:

* Experience with avionics certification (i.e. DO178, ARP4754, etc.)

* Understanding and experience with Hardware DO-160, EMI/ENV Qualification

* Onboard Maintenance experience including building and troubleshooting logic equations
