Sr Software Engineer

**THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE TS/SCI WITH POLY CLEARANCE**

BI&A is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their top-tier team.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

*

Supporting the development and enhancement thick client UI capabilities under Eclipse RCP.

*

Integrating visualization applications with multimedia storage capabilities.

*

Unit testing code and providing assistance to the Help Desk to troubleshoot and debug issues from the users as necessary.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

*

At least ten (10) years in software development/engineering including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. The individual must be able to communicate directions and provide guidance to junior programmer/analysts, as required.

*

At least six (6) years experience developing software in an enterprise environment. At least four (4) years of this experience must have been obtained in the last seven (7) years. At least four (4) years developing software for Windows (7 or higher), UNIX or Linux (Red hat) OS and at least two (2) years of this experience must have been obtained within the last four (4) years.

*

Experience working with desktop application frameworks (e.g. ECLIPSE RCP)

*

Experience developing local and client/server applications

*

Knowledge of multi-threaded applications

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

*

Experience with, or aptitude to develop documentation required to support a program’s technical issues and training situations.

*

Innovative thinker with good problem solving skills.

*

Ability to enhance and support a software application (government or commercial) deployed to production users

*

Familiar with CM/build tools such as Maven, Subversion and Hudson

*

Knowledge/experience defining and/or working with a SOA and XML parsing.
