Job Summary

Researches, designs, develops, tests, debugs, deploys, and maintains application software. Applies a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the construction, analysis, or management of software. Involved in planning of system and assists with system design. Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Performs all aspects of programming assignments. Responsible for compliance with software standards and conventions. Designs and builds changes, extensions and enhancements to existing application programs and reports. Supports data migration, data conversion, data loading, and performance improvement. Designs details of automated systems. Designs and develops integrations between applications using application programming interfaces. Prepares operating instructions and compiles documentation of program development. Prepares test plans and conducts functional and performance testing. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Responsible for working with users to support business applications, and investigating operational problems/system requirements. Solves user inquiries that arise during day-to-day operation and documents system changes. Uses independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities the majority of the time under general supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

* Production, ​modification ​and ​maintenance ​of ​software ​and ​systems.

* All ​stages ​of ​the ​software ​development ​life-cycle, ​planning, ​implementation, ​testing, documenting, ​deployment ​and ​maintenance.

* Building ​web ​application ​back ​end ​systems ​including ​REST, ​RPC ​API’s ​and ​database services.

* Working ​closely ​with ​the ​team ​members.

* Produce ​high ​quality, ​testable ​code ​with ​unit ​tests

* Able ​to ​take ​responsibility ​for ​features, ​design, ​build ​and ​track ​them ​using ​agile ​processes.

Basic Qualifications

Essential ​Skills:

● Excellent ​experience ​with ​PHP ​MVC ​frameworks.
● Excellent ​Object-Oriented ​PHP ​skills ​and ​knowledge ​of ​design ​patterns.
● Web ​services ​and ​APIs.
● Unit ​testing
● Development ​on ​Linux/Unix ​based ​systems ​and ​good ​knowledge ​of ​Linux.
● Requirements ​analysis ​and ​technical ​documentation.
● Familiarity ​with ​Agile ​processes.
● Excitement ​about ​emerging ​software ​and ​web ​technologies.

Desirable ​Skills:

● RDBMS.
● Python ​(2.7/3.4).
● Angular2.
● Symfony ​/ ​Silex ​/ ​Doctrine.
● Ansible ​/ ​Vagrant.
● HTML, ​CSS ​and ​JavaScript.
● Good ​knowledge ​of ​a ​scripting ​language ​(Perl, ​ruby, ​shell ​etc)
● Experience ​with ​continuous ​integration ​and/or ​continuous ​delivery.
● Experience ​working ​with ​version ​control ​systems ​such ​as ​GIT.
● Familiar ​with ​virtualisation.
● Experience ​with ​payment ​providers, ​payment ​gateways.

Qualifications ​& ​Experience:

● Preferably ​a ​bachelor ​degree, ​with ​a ​technical ​major, ​such ​as ​computer ​science ​or engineering.
● Significant ​commercial ​development ​experience.
