As a Sr. Mechanical Design Drafter you will be responsible for layouts, models, and mechanical hardware drawings in support of development and product design. Here’s what you’ll work on: * Organize and plan the number and types of drawings, part selection, parts list generation, and developing complex design layouts and related packaging support documentation * Perform Tolerance Analysis in conjunction with utilization of GD&T methodologies to meet both design, manufacturing, and inspection requirements * Work closely with Engineering, developing their thoughts and sketches into layouts, drawings, and schematics * Lead the graphical evolution of new products from layout to drawings including correctness of proportion, arrangement of internal components, necessary dimensional information and material and/or process suggestions * Produce final drawings or 3D/Solid models independently or in conjunction with others Minimum qualifications to be considered… * An Associate’s Degree in a technical major, preferably in Computer Aided Drafting/Design Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Technology, plus at least five years’ experience in Drafting/Design OR * A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical major, preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and with a career interest in mechanical design And * Experience creating 3D models, subassemblies, top assemblies, reference drawings, bills of materials/parts lists on drawings for conformance to business and engineering requirements using Siemens NX or similar CAD software * Mechanical skills necessary to ensure mating part assembly fit, and interchangeability by performing dimensional/tolerance stack-up studies * Technical skills necessary to determine conformance of end item assemblies to customers’ requirements * Leadership skills to mentor developing drafters and coordinate the resolution of open configuration concerns prior to drawing release * Behavioral skills to lead internal drawing reviews and act as liaison between customer and company on issues of drawing format and content compliance * Orientation to maintain a sense for product cost by suggesting alternate dimensional, tolerance, and finish requirements for ease of manufacture * Knowledge of Teamcenter is highly desired EOE/AA/Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/Veteran
