Job Summary

Our Engineering team is looking for a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of Platform Systems Engineers in Richardson, TX for a team which is responsible for Missions Systems. These solutions integrate communications systems within command and control as well as strategic platforms.

This role is responsible for leading and mentoring the Platform Systems Engineering team through the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, system design, requirements definition, allocation and flowdown, software development & integration, Systems Test & Verification/Validation. Success in this role is measured through exceptional program performance, continuous innovation, and the development of the team members.

The candidate will work closely with Technical Project Managers, Product Line / Program Management, Software, and Support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. A successful candidate will need the ability to matrix multiple programs and development tasks while supporting the various projects objectives of cost and schedule.

We are seeking a candidate passionate about systems engineering, a high degree of accountability, and ability to thrive in a team environment as a part of the systems team in Mission Systems.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience in system engineering duties spanning the entire development lifecycle, from systems design through systems testing. The successful candidate will also have experience leading projects. The successful candidate will have the following experiences:

*

Capture requirements from customer design change proposals

*

Develop systems architecture and human-machine interface requirements for design changes

*

Create test procedures to verify requirements

*

Support engineering cost estimate activities

*

Investigate root cause of issues discovered during all phases of test

*

Lead cross-functional team development which includes customer stakeholders to subsystem engineers

*

Familiarity with nuclear surety is a benefit.

*

The team excels with a diverse skill set so any unique skills the applicant has demonstrated is a consideration.

Basic Qualifications

*

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

*

Must have experience capturing systems requirements.

*

Must have experience with system integration and test.

*

Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering methods and processes from requirements through verification

*

Demonstrated leadership of Systems Engineering teams

*

Demonstrated development of Product line roadmaps and execution of those roadmaps

*

Recent experience and expertise in Requirements Management tools such as DOORS/JAMA

*

Project planning and management experience

*

US DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain (US Citizenship is required)

*

Ability to travel 15%

Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment.

Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, while balancing priorities and schedules are important attributes.

*

Self-starter and have strong analytical skills

*

SEER parametric estimating and bidding experience

*

Recent experience and expertise in Atlassian (e.g. JIRA/Bamboo) suite of tools
