Description

L3 Aeromet is a Division of L3 Intelligence Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Segment and main office is located in Tulsa, OK. Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.

L3 Aeromet has an opportunity for an Image Processing Engineer working to enhance and develop image processing techniques for our advanced EO/IR mission systems. We are seeking a skilled engineer with a capability to work with full motion, multi-spectral video to produce new capabilities that will be deployed to a number of environments. The successful candidate will join an engineering team developing best-in-class algorithms, software architectures, and real-time active, passive, and multi-spectral optical systems in support of the national defense.

DESIRED SKILLS

* IRST System Algorithm Design, Development, and Implementation

* Understanding of image metrics

* Image enhancement, compression, coding, segmentation, restoration, sensor calibration, distortion correction, restoration, structure extraction, depth estimation, fusion, stitching, rotation/scale, electronic stabilization

* Military image processing experience

* UV, Visible, NIR, active/passive SWIR, MWIR, LWIR, and LIDAR processing and phenomenology

* Target detection, segmentation, feature analysis and tracking algorithm development with resolved and unresolved threat imager for scenarios applicable to: G2G, G2A, A2A, A2G

* Cooled, HOT, and Uncooled imagery knowledge

* Detection, Tracking (image based and/or inertial), Recognition, ID, AiTR/ATD

* Machine learning using supervised and unsupervised techniques, neural networks, deep learning , and Generative Adversarial Networks for processing EO/IR imagery

* Physics base synthetic scene modeling, data generation, image injection into real imagery

* Matlab, IDL, Python, C++

QUALIFICATIONS

* U.S. Citizenship

* Typically a B.S. degree in sciences, engineering, or math discipline from an accredited institution with additional engineering experience as follows:

* BS with 9-13 years

* MS with 7-11 years

* PhD or JD with 4-8 years

* MD or DVM with 0-3 years

* Must possess a thorough ability to communicate and collaborate. The candidate will be involved in organizing, scheduling, and tasking work within a team of engineers

* A strong emphasis on engineering concepts and theory and experience applying these to the development of new concepts and technical practices

* Must have a desire to mentor and lead the development of technology as well as team capabilities. The candidate will be placed into a senior role within a team and expected to work with junior engineers to accomplish complex tasks while fostering their technical advancement in Image Processing skill sets

* Ability to work within Windows and Linux operating systems as required
