Senior GNC Engineer II

As a Senior GNC Engineer, you will work with cross-functional engineering teams to quickly provide solutions for our customers. This position provides advanced concept development, design, implementation, test, and evaluation of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The position can include time in office, lab, and infrequent flight test environments depending on program/task.
You will demonstrate success by:

Development of outer-loop control algorithms utilizing feedback from a variety of sensors for precision guidance and ISR mission support
*
Development of inner-loop control algorithms for vehicle stability and performance
*
Development of navigation solutions using GPS and/or alternate-sensor aiding
*
Development of high-fidelity 6DOF math models to simulate/recreate dynamic behavior of airborne flight systems and their sub-components
*
Technology planning and system-level trade studies providing requirements and performance specification
*
Mentoring engineers by demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
*
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
*
Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on Control Theory (advanced degree preferred)
*
10+ years of experience in airborne flight control systems or related field
*
10+ years of experience using integrated sensor systems for guidance and/or navigation
*
Fluency in Matlab/Simulink for development and analysis
*
Experience with GPS and alternate-sensor hardware as applied to navigation development/solutions
*
Working knowledge in C/C++ programming
*
Experience with modeling and control high-speed aerodynamics and control of power plant/propulsion systems
*
Willingness and desire to train less experienced GNC engineers via mentoring and/or technically focused training sessions
* US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearnce and additional clearances, as required.
