Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Engineer- Mechanical Engineering to join our team in Rockford, IL.

The incumbent will be responsible for the mechanical product design, development, analysis of mechanical packaging and specific mechanical engineering problems including but not limited to: end item form, fit, and function, steady-state and dynamic thermal analysis; steady and dynamic fluid analysis; mechanical dynamic and environmental testing. Knowledge and experience establishing configuration management requirements is a plus. Mission System in Rockford current equipment design and analysis responsibilities range from simple frames and general equipment enclosures through rotating machinery including generators and turbines. Our products operate in environments from beneath the ocean to deep-space.

Education/Certification:

• BA/BS degree w/6+ years experience

• MA/MS degree w/4+ years experience

Experience/Qualifications:

• Experienced in design of mechanical packaging for aerospace electronics.

• Experienced in manual analytical methods as well as computer aided engineering methods

• Prior experience in one or more of the following design tools: o ANSYS, PRO-E, CREOLE, NX, Other Modeling and Analysis Tools.

• Proficient with MS Office

• Experienced in Configuration Management is a plus.

• Responsible for several project components and assemblies or complex component of a larger project.

• Contributes to their team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas and participating in team meetings.

• Must be a self-starter, willing and able to work with/without regular guidance or direction. •

• Capable of leading and/or supporting failure investigations to identify original root cause. • Familiar with traditional manufacturing methods, practices, and materials.

• This position may require travel to suppliers, test facilities, or customer sites as much as 10% a year.

• Configuration Management of drawings, engineering changes, and 3D models.
