Job Summary

Do you enjoy staying busy while broadening your engineering problem solving skills in a multi-disciplinary aerospace engineering environment?

This opening is for a Sr. Electrical Engineer – Post DPE Engineering to join our Head Up Guidance (HGS) team in Wilsonville Oregon working on head-up and helmet-mounted display and guidance products for both commercial and military aircraft applications.

The Post DPE Engineering group is an energetic team within our engineering organization that has the unique wide-ranging role of supporting all aspects of product design from introduction through end-of-life. This role includes:

* Interfacing with Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, Product Development, Quality, Service and Product Management to provide engineering support and collaboration with those functions

* Involvement and feedback on current development projects

* Hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of system, LRU, and subassembly level issues

* Evaluation, re-design and implementation as necessary for improvements and device obsolescence following our HGS engineering processes

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a broad background in electronics engineering who is passionate, enjoys working with a team of talented people, and is eager to take on challenges. As part of this team, you will be exposed to a variety of world class products, and have the ability to contribute significantly to the advancement & support of our award winning products around the globe.

Job Responsibilities

* Digital and analog electronics hardware design

* Analyze and troubleshoot complex avionics electronic systems for Head-Up Guidance Systems including root cause analysis, impact analysis and documentation

* Head-up and helmet display electronics including embedded processors, FPGAs, mixed-signal, avionics communications, built-in test, video (cameras and displays) and power supplies

* Analyze and redesign printed circuit assemblies for obsolescence and product improvement (schematic and board design)

* Act as an engineering expert resource for Manufacturing Engineering and Service for troubleshooting and investigation of real time electronic assembly failures

* Work with quality and manufacturing engineering to evaluate current production and customer returned circuit assemblies to identify failure trends, implement methods of preventing future failures, and communicate/document findings to improve next-generation designs

* Recommend robust engineering solutions for design and manufacturing issues including product test and coordinate implementation with production, program management and design engineering teams

* Support NPI builds and system integration and represent Post-DPE engineering in the development of new designs

* Support internal and external customers, potentially interfacing directly with external customers

* Review metrics and hardware defects trends, identify systemic root causes and promote process improvements.

* Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in hardware development and manufacturing processes

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline (preferrably Electrical Engineering)

* US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required

* Possess a high level of understanding of analog and digital circuit designs and is fluent in troubleshooting mixed signal systems

* Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills

* Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization

* Demonstrate high energy and optimism when working on all projects
