Job Description: Primary Purpose:
LGS Innovations, a leader in solving the most complex networking and communications challenges, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for our Westminster, CO location.
Will work closely with other Interns, and with seasoned engineers on projects, providing exposure to leading edge telecommunications technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform work under close mentor guidance, to include but not limited to:
Development of embedded software
OO design techniques
User interfaces (Windows, Android, Web-based) to control/monitor solutions
Network security
Gain knowledge regarding various wireless technologies (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, Wi-Fi, BT, NFC, IoT protocols), network or communications protocol programming, design patterns, embedded SW development, Linux-based SW development, Windows user interfaces
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated effective teamwork skills
Minimum program commitment of 8 weeks
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications, as required
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites, as necessary
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties, as required
Consistent and reliable attendance required
If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education and Training:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Must be a rising Junior or Senior in a Bachelor’s program or Graduate student.
Broad computer science/computer engineering background including broad knowledge of algorithms and data structure implementation
Experience with high-level programming languages such as C / C++ and Java.
Experience with source code management tools such as Git
Experience with GNU/Linux software development and tool chains
Interest in algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9
