An opportunity exists for a social media specialist in the Jetstar corporate communications team.

Our Social Media Senior Adviser is responsible for protecting and strengthening the Jetstar brand through social media. The role will manage and coordinate strategic corporate communications on social media as well as playing a pivotal role in developing social media content which tells Jetstar’s story.

With team members based in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore, our Corporate Communications team is focused on protecting and promoting our brand, and developing and executing high-impact and creative communication strategies. We work closely with team members across our airlines, from our Group CEO and local leadership teams, to our cabin crew, pilots and engineers.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications you will be required to:

• Develop and implement a self-publishing strategy for the corporate communications team
• Drive and develop social media strategy including channel and content plans for Jetstar Group and each of the Jetstar branded airlines Asia, closely aligned to the corporate communications strategies
• Proactively develop external social media content and opportunities to meet business objectives and promote key Jetstar initiatives – eg. social posts, videos, reactive responses
• Proactively develop internal communication content to meet business objectives and increase staff engagement
• Maintain a close awareness of emerging themes and issues within key business areas, particularly those with the ability to negatively or positively impact customers or employees, and act accordingly
• Provide issues management support and crisis management preparedness
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, particularly Marketing and Customer Care teams.
• Provide regular compilation of analytics and market research on Jetstar’s online and social media presence.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Possess tertiary education in communications or similar disciplines
• Strategic understanding of communication and social media and its role within a large organisation
• Ability to develop strategies as well as roll out campaigns and content
• Proven success at working with several different business functions (e.g. marketing, customer service, corporate comms) to deliver consistent outputs.
