Sikorsky S61 Captain

British International Helicopter Services Ltd has an exciting opportunity to join it’s small team of professionals in the Falkland Islands.

We are seeking to appoint a Sikorsky S61 Captain who will report to the Base Managing Pilot. In his/her role, the S61 Captain will act as Commander of flights in all roles of the military Support Contract, including transfer of passengers and freight, underslung load operations and ship deck landings.

As part of a small team there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and roles to deliver the highest safety levels and the expected service level to the client on behalf of the company.

Essential

Sikorsky S61 Type Rating

A valid Airline Transport Pilots Licence (Helicopters)

2,500 hours including 500 hours on Medium/Heavy multi engine types

Proven Underslung load experience

Deck landing experience

Previous experience in similar role

Desirable

Has experience of working with the military

The successful candidate will be required to adhere to company policies and procedures as detailed in the company Operations Manual. They will undertake training courses and testing as required by the company at whichever location is necessary. The role is based at the company’s Falkland Island base at Mount Pleasant.

The working routine is based around a notional 6-week rotational roster, complying with the FTL. You will be required to travel within your own time between shift rotations.
