Short Haul Planning Manager

Mission:

The Short Haul Planning Manager prepares different planning scenarios for decision by optimizing service patterns of existing markets and by evaluating new destinations in line with the overall network strategy of the company. These different scenarios are planned within a time-span of 18 to 6 months prior to operation in order to continuously improve the profitability of our network.

Tasks:

* You optimize the profitability of the overall network and of individual routes through a close monitoring of the performance indicators of the network/routes and via monitoring of the competition.

* You identify new market opportunities (new destinations) & necessary market studies together with the sales department.

* You prepare a business case for decisions based on input from all involved departments (sales, pricing, ground service delivery, etc.) in order to further optimize the profitability of the network.

* You re-evaluate the design of the network and you introduce and negotiate about new destinations.

* You interact regularly with the alliance, pricing, revenue management, sales & marketing departments with respect to network planning issues in order to defend a consistent network approach throughout the company and to provide them with a network point of view in their day-to-day business.

* You communicate changes to the network plan throughout the company in order to provide all necessary information about the network changes to the departments concerned.

* You drive the mid- to long-term development of the routes and the network by challenging the commercial department in order to come to a joint consensus on how the network should be further developed.

* You ensure a timely delivery of a scenario-based seasonal network plan (SUTT, WITT) to the scheduling department taking into account relevant operational and commercial constraints and opportunities.

* You will report to the Head of Long term Planning and Scheduling.

Profile:

* Master in Economics or equivalent by experience in the airline sector.

* 2 years airline experience is an asset.

* Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken is a must.

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Natural leadership.

* Able to interact at all levels of the company.

* Able to work under pressure and work autonomously.

* In-depth knowledge of Excel.
