Job Summary
Reporting to the Process Owner, your day will involve managing all shift related activities within the department to deliver business objectives and targets while optimising the usage of company resources in line with department and personal KPIs.
Using your ability to communicate clearly, you will engage with and develop team members to maximise their contribution to the department’s performance through effective shift briefings and employee team meetings with all members of staff ensuring effective hand over to other shifts and customers.
Leveraging your business acumen, you will make decisions on operational issues giving due consideration to cost effectiveness, timely delivery and sustainability. You will gather and analyse performance information, identify issues and solutions and report on progress as per agreed frequencies.
Through effective planning and organisation, you will optimise manpower, product and equipment levels, creating and maintaining conditions necessary for a productive functioning work environment.
In collaboration with the management team, you will assist in creation of strategies and business plans for the short/medium and long term (e.g. forecasts, budgets, continuous improvement plan)
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Educated to a good level of secondary education (A level or equivalent);
Work Experience:
* Extensive experience in managing large shifts.
* Proven experience of managing within a manufacturing, airline catering or production process
* Good understanding of health and safety, food hygiene, security regulations (DFT) desirable
Others:
Must have the indefinite right to work in the UK; Ability to successfully undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check); Ability to provide 5 years of checkable referencing history.
