Job Title: Production Operative (Sheet Metal Worker)
Permanent
Salary : To be discussed upon application

Job purpose: The repair of parts and assemblies under part 145
Hours of work: - Full Time – 40 hour per week

Britten Norman Aviation Production - manufactures and repairs spare parts/assemblies for internal and external customers.

Main Tasks
Manufacture of detail parts from sheet material (sheet metal work) in accordance without works order or drawings (approx. 20hrs per week)

Assemble detail parts to form assemblies in accordance with our works order or drawings under 145 regulations (approx. 5 hrs per week)

Manufacture of pipework from raw materials(coppersmith) in accordance with our works order or drawings. (approx. 2 hrs per week)

Operate the ‘router’ to manufacture detail parts in accordance with our works order or drawings (approx. 3 hrs per week)

Manufacture cable assemblies from detail parts in accordance with our works order or drawings (approx. 3 hrs per week)

Prepare and apply specialist treatments (Alochrom, paint, etc) in accordance with our build instruction/drawings (approx. 2 hrs per week)

Manufacture detail parts using fixed plant equipment (machine shop) in accordance with our works order or drawings (approx. 2 hrs per week)

Repair, overhaul and service of hydraulic assemblies in accordance with our works order or drawings (approx. 3 hrs per week)

Our client expects you to take responsibility for your work tools.

Ensure tasks are carried out using safe working practices so that there is no risk of harm or danger to the operative or any other person

Identify opportunities for improvement to product, process or environment and cost saving efficiencies.

Ensure times booked to each task are accurate and that any overrun ono hours is recorded and passed tot the “Production supervisor” for evaluation.

Understand the company’s ethos, the purpose of the business and maintain company confidentiality
at all times.

Comply with appropriate legislation, current regulations and Company policies and procedures as set out in the Company handbook and other publications communicated to you from time to time.

Have regard and where necessary comply with the Company’s systems established to ensure compliance with those policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations which could have an impact on your working area.

Communicate effectively with all members of your team and the business alike, identify early potential risks, seek clarification if you are unsure and provide feedback on all aspects of the business to your line manager.

Undertake and successfully pass appropriate training applicable to your role as communicated to you from time to time and proactively identify training opportunities for your own advancement and self-improvement.

Main tasks/Accountabilities
Proactively comply with and advocate company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Process any personal data in your procession in accordance with company policy and the Data Protection Act 1998.

Education/Qualifications
Indentured Apprenticeship in a relevant area or equivalent E
5 x GCSEs at grade “c” or higher in Maths and English E

Read and understand technical drawings instructions/build instructions E
Achieve high quality standards E

Experience
Demonstrable experience within the Aerospace engineering E
