Job Summary

Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Software / Systems Engineering position on the FMS Programs team in the Flight Management Applications department.

The ideal candidate will develop requirements, test and software artifacts for the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS). This Avionics Management System integrates multiple communications, navigation and mission subsystems through its flexible Flight2™ open systems architecture design.

Job Responsibilities

* FMS software requirements, design, code and test development and execution

* Ability to work across all facets of the software engineering development process in an Agile-focused work environment.

* Mentor other engineers in the development process, systems integration, and systems / software engineering practices.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

* US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required.

* Knowledge of MATLAB, Ada, or Python development languages.

* Experience in the design and development of deliverable software (production or consumer facing).

* Strong understanding of software / systems engineering state of the art practices.

* Experience in verification and continuous test and integration practices.

* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

* Defense or Aerospace industry experience.

* Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
