Rates of pay to be discussed upon application. 

 

Job Purpose: To provide technical support for the Military Technical Support Service contract in the area of avionics systems responsibility, on behalf of client.

 

Support the overall direction o f the company with particular emphasis on Military Technical Support.

 

Role Accountabilities

Main tasks / Accountabilities

Ensure compliance with the FWMAS contract for Technical Support Service (SPMAP/001) to maximise performance on behalf of Client.

 

Act as a Senior Engineer and a CVE to provide guidance and assistance to the Military TSS team

 

Act as a Board and Design signature in an appropriate discipline

 

Provide technical direction to the Mill TSS Team to obtain responses in a timely manner to any Technical Query (TQ) from FWMAS; in addition provide signature to TQ response for Avionics Queries.

 

Review each UFRs received from FWMAS for acceptability and whether additional design data is required. If civil and/or military design data is required then do not proceed with UFR and submit Task request or MoD

 

If UFR is acceptable and the response can be based upon existing civil design and where appropriate existing military design, then promulgate the UFR to the Mil TSS Technical Publication team for prosecution.

 

Support the generation of Mill TSS quotes for FWMAS as requested, liaising with BNA Design as required.

 

Liaise with BNS Design to ensure that the military design data set does not diverge from the civil aircraft standard, unless agreed in writing from BNS Design.

 

Review and plan for “incentivised” Tasks to ensure compliance with the output date. In particular providing direction and review of ‘core’ team output.

Attend fortnightly meetings, held between FWMAS and BN Defence when requested.

 

Prepare for an attend Structural and Systems Integrity Working Group.

 

Prepare for and attend Project Safety Working Group.

 

Assist with the development of Military Modification packages, either standalone of based on BNA civil design modifications.

 

Represent mechanical design at meetings as required by the Director of Technical Services.

 

Undertake any special tasks as directed by the Director of Technical Services.

 

 

Supervise specific projects, designers and sub-contractors and ensure that they do not endanger themselves or others by the use of unsafe working practices.

 

Maintain professional and / or technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks participating in professional societies.

 

Understand the company’s ethos , the purpose of the business and maintain company confidentiality at all times.

 

Comply with appropriate legislation, current regulations and Company policies and procedures as set out in the Company handbook and other publications communicated to you from time to time.

 

Have regard and where necessary comply with the Company’s systems established to ensure compliance with those policies, plans procedures, laws and regulations which could have an impact on your working area.

 

 

Communicate effectively with all members of your team and the business alike, identify early potential risks, seek clarification if you are unsure provide feedback on all aspects of the business to your line manager.

 

Undertake and successfully pass appropriate training applicable to your roles as communicated to you from time to time and proactively identify training opportunities for your own advancement and self-improvement.

 

Proactively comply with and advocate company Health and Safety policies and procedures.

 

Process any personal data in your possession in accordance with company policy and the Data Protection Act 1998.

Education/Qualifications

Degree / HND/ HNC in related engineering subject – Essential.

Engineering apprenticeship in aircraft or similar allied industries - Desirable

CAD Training - Desirable
