The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer will make an immediate impact on the business by performing and providing technical direction for the architecture, development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of C5ISR systems. The Senior Systems Engineer is closely aligned with the business and product management teams in order to understand and anticipate necessary technology and design decisions. Specific C5ISR systems include innovative SDN/NFV networking capabilities with a focus on US Navy and other DOD network and communication systems, advanced automation and simulation modeling incorporating machine learning algorithms, working with software architectures that include microservices, containers and VMs. Opportunities exist in, but are not limited to, advanced free space optical communications, RF and spectrum management system and MLS and Cross Domain solutions and cyber security and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The successful candidate(s) will possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline, Masters desired.

*

Minimum of 8 years of experience in network work

*

A complete understanding of the systems engineering process from systems concept phase through systems test.

*

Proven ability to work through customer requirements to technical requirements to product solutions.

*

Working knowledge of any standard system engineering process including: MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220 or ISO 15288. Strong verbal, written, and people development skills are required.

*

Engineering experience in leading, coordinating, and integrating technical aspects of an assigned project including the definition of the system architecture and design concepts, the preparation of tradeoff analysis and the development and conduct of program test plans and procedures.

Possesses skills and in-depth knowledge of SDN/NFV networks with a focus on US Navy and other DOD network and communication systems at an expert/lead technical level. Ability to define network architectures and design for the enterprise. Ability to work on multiple projects as a technical project leader or as the subject matter expert. Ability to work on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Knowledge of technological trends and developments in the area of network systems. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Operational experience in Navy networks and cyber security is highly desirable.

Researches alternatives, evaluates and presents recommendations for network systems upgrades and integration solutions.

U.S. Citizen.

*

Ability to obtain Security Clearance (DOD Secret minimum).
