Senior Systems Engineer - 1078248

Provides senior on-site systems engineering support to the Missile Defense and Space Systems (MDSS) Project Office. Provides technical assistance and analysis of MDSS technical activities in evaluating systems performance and effectiveness to include interoperability and integration analysis. Provides technical assistance in refining operational requirements, conducting survivability and vulnerability analysis, assessing preplanned improvements, system modifications, and system test and evaluation. Provides engineering and technical assistance to risk assessment and mitigation using government-approved methodologies and databases. Provides technical assessment of capability development documents, combatant directives, and new user requirements to determine MDSS product specifications and design, integration, and test standards and criteria. Assists in technical development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Modification Work Orders (MWOs), and Technical Directives (TDs) to improve MDSS reliability, availability, maintainability, and affordability using configuration management techniques and procedures. Provides technical assistance to operational exercises include test beds, on-site exercise support, hardware-in-loop testing, and post-exercise performance evaluation. Provides technical support to Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and technical infusion to new and emerging capabilities. Provides technical support in integration of MDSS products into theater strategic communication architectures to include interfaces and coordination with other services. Provides program protection and system security engineering support to ensure cyber security and information assurance is integrated into the design, acquisition, development, fielding, and operation of MDSS products. Provides technical assistance in preparing, reviewing, and evaluating cost, schedule, and performance documents and reports including risk assessment and management. Responsible for overseeing the creation/alteration of documents required for acquisition milestones and reviews as described in DoD Instruction 5000.02 with DoD and industry.

Qualifications

Position requires critical thinking to address acquisition mandates and warfighter requirements and provides direct input into solving complex programmatic and technical issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent knowledge, skills and abilities using Microsoft Office is required. Must possess an active Secret security clearance. Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Field. Position requires at least 15 years of experience.
