Description:Space Protection Programs NEXT department is
seeking a motivated and enthusiastic system
engineer to help develop low-TRL R&D systems and
push them to the next level. Our agile team,
operating under rapid design paradigm, is
composed of team members that are able to work
across several engineering disciplines to generate
proof-of-concept demo programs, forming the next
generation of space protection products. Our team
deals with cradle to grave development, creating
custom hardware in-house. Work is varied, and
products may span from innovative bus development
to payload subsystems.

We are seeking an experienced multifunctional RF and/or mechanical designer who can work designs from requirements definition through lab testing--sometimes in very small groups, and sometimes in larger teams. The successful candidate will be able to work across both mechanical and RF domains in some capacity. Degrees in both fields are not required, but experience in both is required.

A candidate with an RF-dominant skillset will be able to define RF requirements, create innovative solutions to new problems, create block-diagram architectures, form systems from components, implement design, and test in lab. This candidate will also be able to work to create mechanical designs to a non-flight prototype level.

A candidate with a mechanical-dominate skillset will be experienced in working new mechanical architectures from cradle to grave, experience with CAD, and experience integrating subsystems into larger systems.
Basic Qualifications:
-Ability to take a design from inception to deployment in their primary expertise (mechanical or RF).
-Experience with technical leadership.
-Experience with engineering design tools.
-Experience in mechanical and RF design.
-US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a with Polygraph
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity across several disciplines of engineering
(digital and RF hardware, software, signal processing,
mechanical, thermal) is a plus
- Experience with MATLAB is a plus
- Experience with communications systems is a plus
- Experience with radar systems is a plus
- Experience with bus development is a plus
- Experience with space payload development is a plus
