Job Summary

Work on some of the most advanced military avionics in the world! You will be part of a multi-disciplinary group of designers developing products for domestic and international military customers for a variety of helicopter and fixed wing platforms.

Job Responsibilities

This software / systems engineering position is in the Military Avionics Display department. Currently, this team supports Special Operations Aviation, Future Attack Reconnaisance Aircraft, and Arial Cargo Handling. Expect to work on a wide variety of tasks that include (but are not limited to): developing real-time flight critical application software, performing hardware/software integration in the lab, designing / architecting new solutions to meet the needs of our customers and developing requirements and tests to validate the software.

New hires are provided a training plan and mentor to give you the tools and support you need to be successful.

The applications being developed would appeal to anyone interested in graphics, Ethernet communications (or general communication protocols), hardware/software integration, elegant algorithms and software design, model-based development or general computer logic design.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.

* This position requires you to work in a restricted facility that requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card).

* Fluent in a wide variety of programming languages, with a preference for knowledge of C, C++, or Python.

* Knowledge of good software design and knowledge of proven design patterns.

* Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.

* Previous experience developing real time applications (such as video games) in academia, as a hobby or industry is a plus.

* Ability to capture, trace and modify requirements.

* Create, document, and test algorithms, control laws, models, and interface definitions.

* Analyze, document, and conduct verification/validation testing for systems, products or sub-systems, generally in one functional area.

Key skills for success:

* Great attention to detail.

* Passion for aviation and/or aerospace.

Desired (but not required) experience:

* Strong knowledge of Python

* Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion® system

* RTCA DO-178B/DO-178C or other formal development standards

* Model Based Development (MBD)

* Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow / VAPS

* ARINC-661, ARINC-429, ARINC-653/ASL/AFDX/Ethernet-Assets
