Role Overview

We are currently searching for a dedicated and team-focused Senior Software Engineer to be part of our department DevOps team. The position will be part of a team that supports cross-functional teams developing embedded software for the growing field of connected aircraft information management solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer in this organization, you will have the opportunity to work on all phases of the software life cycle using Agile software development practices following the Scaled Agile Framework.

The DevOps team is focused on developing a universal set of infrastructure and testing resources to automate and accelerate the continuous delivery pipeline for multiple programs within our department. This position will be a part of the DevOps team supporting multiple programs that use cellular and networking technologies to connect aircraft to a ground infrastructure. The movement of data from air to ground and from ground to air will help streamline airline operations and allow more information to be available sooner.

Primary Responsibilities:

Your work will contribute to the development of our next generation of connectivity devices for aircraft flown all around the world and you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by a fun-loving and intelligent team. Responsibilities include:
* Plan, develop, and maintain lab, build, and testing infrastructure that allows the team to prepare software builds for execution in a simulation environment, reference platforms and on the target hardware.
* Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems of moderate complexity.
* Drive a culture of shared responsibility for fast value delivery across the entire DevOps team and to the programs the DevOps team supports
* Push for automation to remove human intervention from as much of the process as possible to reduce errors, shorten time to market and improve quality.
* Understand and measure the flow of value through the development and delivery process, thereby fostering learning and continuous improvement.
* Expand and apply knowledge: Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, tools, methods and coding best practices with primary emphasis on accelerating the transition from development to release.
* Travel could be an option with our team located in Iowa, France, India, and Annapolis!
* This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30 am to 4:30 pm workday, or beyond 40 hour work weeks.

Qualifications

* Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree (STEM degree is highly preferred) and five years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and three years of prior relevant experience* Experience implementing and driving Continuous Integration
* Knowledge of working on a Linux OS

Additional experience a plus:
* DevOps Experience in an Agile environment
* Cellular and networking experience
* Development experience in Python (or scripting) or Robot automated test framework
