Senior Research Scientist Software Engineering

Job Description:

The Defense group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Research Scientist to work in Springfield, VA after an initial orientation at our Alexandria, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Warfighter mission. This opportunity is in support of Advanced Research and Development on the RECON project.

This position will be responsible for providing technical guidance and development support to teams deploying containerized solutions in cloud and High-performance Computing (HPC) environments.

Requirements:

* Experience with a higher level language such as Python, Java, or C/C++; architecting technical solutions designed for a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or another cloud environment; hands-on experience within a devops environment and associated tools; and working knowledge of developing and deploying containerized micro-services (Docker, Singularity).
* 9 years of experience and a MA/MS degree. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
* TS/SCI with CI Poly

Preferred Qualifications:

* Understanding of GPUs and experience with HPC environments and support tools such as workload managers (SLURM), container management (Docker, Singularity) and registration (Kubernetes), and capacity planning
