Job Summary

Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for experienced engineers in our Government Systems Flight Management Applications and Systems department. This organization is cognizant for our military based flight management software product.

Our flight manager applications provide global airspace access and mission planning capabilities for a variety military and civilian aircraft. This is done by provide real time information and solutions to the pilots, giving them unprecedented ability to execute their missions throughout the world by providing flight planning, guidance and navigation capabilities for both military- and civil-certified aircraft.

Job Responsibilities

* Lead a cross functional team specific to the project and coordinate regularly with engineering and program management to ensure success of the project.

* Manage quality, cost, schedule, and scope as well as the various team dynamics present on project teams.

* Basic risk management (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks).

* Scope management.

* Perform cost/benefit analysis.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.

* Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).

* Ability to travel (domestic and International up to 10%).

* Experience with systems and software tools (DOORS, Python, ADA, C, Matlab, JAMA).

* Experience interacting with domestic and international partners.

* Design and development experience in system and software engineering.

* Experience with basics of risk management (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks).

* Familiarity with the AGILE (JIRA/ALM) development process, specifically SAFe.

* Familiarity with Flight Controls, Flight Management Applications, and Flight Management Products.

* Familiarly with aerospace and avionics.

Key skills for success:

* Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal).

* Time management skills – ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work.

* Demonstrated success in a team environment is critical as this individual would be working an AGILE development environment with other engineers in cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications:

* Hands-on experience with avionics and flight deck controls.

* Defense or Aerospace industry experience.

* Certification experience with avionics, specifically DO-178B/C and ARP4754A.
