We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer.
The Senior Project Engineer position involves the technical leadership and oversight of the requirements, design, analysis, development, test & evaluation of electrical and mechanical systems that support infrared products. Responsibilities include system engineering and requirements, management of new and existing hardware products, new development project execution. Individual will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplined engineering team. Work closely with the Program Manager, assigned engineering team, manufacturing, quality and other departments as necessary to expedite project completion and most importantly meet the customer expectations. Recent experience with team leadership experience is required.
Qualifications:
• A passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of circuit level electronic equipment and systems, and the ability to further advance L-3 Space & Sensors Technology Center.
• Being responsible for coordinating all aspects of the project to meet technical, schedule and design to cost goals
• Performing technical analysis/feasibility for new product specifications, evaluate customer specifications and support cost/technical proposal generation
• Effectiveness in project management through resource planning, personnel oversight, and cost/schedule tracking
• Ensuring that all engineering related internal processes (see below) are followed by the project design team

• Interfacing effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgrounds
• Performing as the technical point of contact for customers
• Providing leadership to small groups or teams and guidance to less experienced staff members
• Strong verbal and written communication skills through the preparation and presentation of design reviews, proposals and program status
• Previous experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques
• Previous experience as a control account manager (CAM) in an EVMS environment is desired
• Previous experience with infrared cameras is a plus
• PMP certification is a plus
•10 % Travel Required for the role.
Qualifications
Education/Skills:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer
• A background in project engineering and high-reliability environments is required
