Role

The main purpose of the Senior Mechanic role within the CMC team based at Northampton is:

A Dedicated & skilled tradesperson required within Monarch Aircraft Engineering Component Maintenance Centre, currently based at London Luton Airport, supporting repairs / work on aircraft components, ensuring required compliance maintained to high quality & standards. Ability to work to defined deadlines using knowledge & hand skills, working individually & within team essential. Knowledge of typical workshop machinery such as lathes, milling machines & various hand tools essential, and ability to understand & follow procedures, very good machining skills required for role.

Key Responsibilities

The Key responsibilities for the Senior Mechanic within the CMC team based at Northampton is;

Carry out Servicing/Maintenance & Repairs to required aircraft standards.

Work with team to achieve turnaround times, maintain Health & Safety & use core skills to uphold standards & compliance of department

Support departmental efficiency drive, housekeeping & apprentice training.

Responsible to Team Leaders, Operational Manager

Provide professional approach to customers.

 

 

Requirements

The successful candidate for the Senior Mechanic within the CMC team based at Northampton will have the following attributes;

Demonstrable proven workshop / machining or equivalent aircraft related / component workshop experience essential

Good understanding of engineering drawings, ability to translate drawing or dedicated manual instructions into successful component / tooling repairs.

Ability to understand / follow dedicated procedures required. Knowledge of LHE cadmium plating, industry standard heat treatment or any specialist process knowledge an advantage.

Demonstrable aircraft hands on skills, sheet metal fabrication skills, lathe / milling machine experience, dedicated process skills such as bearing spinning, cadmium plating, heat treatment, riveting, tooling & mechanical engineering.

Proven machining, Sheet metal / fabrication / machine tooling / structural repairs / component workshop experience. Reasonable level of education, previous dedicated aircraft component workshop experience would be considered.

Demonstrable machining & hand skills, good organizational skills, good housekeeping, computer skills, communicator, Technical knowledge with ability to understand engineering drawings / complex instructions & ability to learn.

Please note this position will initially be based in Luton.
