UTC Aerospace Systems – Aerostructures, one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms, has an immediate opening for a Senior Material Review Board Engineer at our Riverside, CA facility.

Area of Expertise:
Engineering classifications engaged in research and/or product development encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: General, Chemical, Design, and/or Civil. Also includes project/program management.

Typical Roles/Area of Focus:
Incumbent’s responsibilities will generally focus on one or more of the following:

* General
* Chemical
* General Design/Tool Design
* Project/Engineering Management
* Program Management
* Civil Engineering

The MRB Engineer will perform mechanical engineering duties using mechanical engineering principles and methods to provide a repair design for commercial aircraft nacelle components. Analyze defects and design repairs for metallic (aluminum allow, titanium, steels) and composite (Kevlar, graphite-epoxy) structures. The selected candidate will be responsible for selecting and analyzing adhesives for design repairs of composite bond panels and document analyses. Select and analyze mechanical fastening systems for design repairs (solid, bimetallic, blind, hex drive bolts, lock bolts) and document analyses. Ensure the design repair meets all customer, FAA, CAAC and International standards for commercial aircraft designs. Propose/or perform preliminary static stress analysis and assist in fatigue analysis for MRB repair dispositions. Document design package for review by customers and regulatory agencies as required.

Qualifications
* Nacelle/Engine Component knowledge highly desired, but not required.
* Ideal candidate will have strong written, verbal, communication & presentation skills.
* Candidates should be a team player and have strong analytical technical problem solving skills.
* Ability to work within a cross functional technical organization without any boundaries.
* Strong PC and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
* Current US Citizen or Green Card Holder required for this position.
* This position could be assigned to FAA Covered Safety Sensitive Work

Education

BS degree in related field w/6–10+ years experience

MS degree in related field w/4–7+ years experience
