About The Role

This role is a Senior Manufacturing Engineer / Specialist, within operations and the new product introduction (NPI) team, focused on projects that improve quality, reliability, and on time delivery. This person is integral to the overall success of all product lines and is responsible for using lean manufacturing and root cause analysis tools to resolve system level and business issues.

Responsibilities

* Development and qualification of new processes will be required to ensure engineering and mil-spec requirements are met within production

* Responsible for the development & evolution of system level test processes and procedures, including PFMEA, SPC, tooling/automation development and test procedures

* Identification and monitoring of first pass yield and rolling yield

* Take action on yield issues to develop corrective action and process fixes

* Lead tiger teams in quality issues as they pertain to containment and corrective action activities

* Support translation of product specifications from engineering to manufacturing procedures

* Identification and monitoring of first pass yield and rolling yield

* Identify failure trends & systemic issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions

* Leadership and support for continuous improvement initiatives and projects

* Present manufacturing engineering activities at cell sustaining update meeting on monthly basis

* Ownership & leadership of large system level issues and provide technical direction to the factory

* Create documentation to support system level changes, including test procedures, Work Instructions and authoring procedures within the Manufacturing Execution System

* Reviewing change requests generated by engineering and production staff, and implement changes as required

* Act as a back-up point of contact to the Manufacturing Engineers responsible for the day to day support of a Cell Team

Qualifications

Desired Skills

* Must have Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high tech assembly environment

* Excellent knowledge of Systems, Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing and Process Engineering

* Excellent technical communication skills both verbal and written

* Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

* Able to troubleshoot and “real-time" problem solve manufacturing/testing issues through utilization of the lean tools to eliminate waste and ensure that problems never happen again

* Ability to assign priorities to tasks/assignments so they are completed within the designated timeframe

* Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail

* Able to read and understand Electrical Assembly and System Level Architecture drawings

* Basic coding knowledge of C+, C#, Visual Basic is an asset, but not required

* AS9100 knowledge and experience an asset, but not required

Desired Experience and Education

* Must have a well-rounded electrical/electronic background with manufacturing engineering experience in a high tech environment

* University degree in an Engineering discipline

* Minimum of 5-10+ years’ experience in a Systems Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering capacity

* Green Belt Certification or equivalent industry Lean experience
