Description

Reporting to the Head, Industry Strategy and Operations, the Senior Manager, Industry BI Management acts as a subject matter expert on commercial aviation business intelligence solutions with special focus on Airline Revenue Management and Ancillary services.

The incumbent will play a key role as the industry expert in Revenue Management practices and will be responsible for articulation and alignment of the BIS portfolio value proposition, with a focus on exceptional BI advisory services on Airline Revenue management strategy and tactics through in-depth client training, specialized use cases development, and senior airline executive engagement.

The Senior Manager supports NPD activities and projects managed by the Director, Data and Digital Content and the Head, Industry Strategy and Operations.

Responsibilities

* As a Revenue Management SME develop the use cases, both from functional and business process standpoint, in order to demonstrate the value proposition and train analysts in the use of IATA’s BI solutions, as well as encourage adoption among our client portfolio.
* Drive the research on industry trends in Revenue Management, Ancillaries, and Fare Families, and lead the engagement with the industry to develop new solutions and enhance existing ones.
* Collaborate internally with product managers, sales managers, and other internal stakeholders to meet customer expectations regarding product implementation, training, and also quality and system enhancements.
* Help clients improve their tactical and strategic decision making processes in all revenue generation related areas through the use of IATA’s BI solutions.
* Identify best practices adopted by customers and communicate them to product managers to enhance our BI tools’ value proposition.
* Establish the Industry BI Management and Data Sharing Program framework including guidelines, best practices, preferred vendor selection criteria, technical roadmap and implementation flow.
* Propose, support, and actively participate in BIS innovation development (new platforms, new distribution channels, new products), as well as other BIS initiatives, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

* University degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Economics, Operations Research, or equivalent degree;
* Minimum 10 years of experience in defining, planning and implementing revenue management and pricing strategies at an airline. Experience with Ancillary revenue strategy is a strong asset;
* Business Intelligence knowledge is required for the role. Excellent IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite; understanding of Project Management fundamentals (PMP certification preferred);
* Knowledge of Forecasting and Optimization techniques is an advantage;
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills: able to identify, analyze and resolve issues with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail;
* Ability to work in an international team environment across a matrix organization with a high cultural intelligence;
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional language(s) would be considered an asset for the role;
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
