Job Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Strategy expert to join Etihad Aviation Group. This role will feed directly into driving our long term strategic plan. You will be responsible for creating the commercial transformation roadmap in line with the Etihad strategic plan across the Commercial division and beyond. This role is ideal for an aviation specialist who has experience and has first hand experience in transforming commercial direction for an airline or the travel industry, aligning stakeholder requirements, expectations and implementation

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and participate in Commercial Strategy definition, development and implementation by leading international and internal analysis to develop insights and recommendations supporting strategic decisions to contribute to Company strategy success and positioning improvement
  • Lead strategic projects across the commercial division with strong partnership across key stakeholders in the different business units on all levels.
  • Lead, guide and support the commercial organization to articulate business and technical requirements in commercial and/or technology projects. Create project plans and take lead or supervise their execution
  • Project Management: Lead and co-ordinate the direction, planning and enabling and delivery of the projects and refinements of the commercial components in line with the strategy
  • Change Management: Advocate and Support change across all levels in the commercial division.
  • Reporting: Monitoring quality and progress of the projects and performance and define actions to resolve quality issues. Create and maintain appropriate metrics. Identify and elaborate on focus areas for improvement.
  • Influencing: Plays an active role in improving the interface between the strategic direction, various businesses and analyses and establish requirements for the implementation of significant changes in the organization, business functions and processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Either a combination of a Bachelors/Masters or equivalent degree and 8 years job-related experience OR 10years job-related experience in the Commercial Travel Industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience driving strategic projects and proven delivery of milestones in sizeable commercial transformation projects
  • Experience in change management and leading teams to deliver positive project outcomes is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fully conversant with appropriate tool and applications to support the business planning process.
  • Natural leader with entrepreneurial spirit and ongoing passion to continually learn and deliver accurate and timely insights in strategic and ad-hoc issues under tight time scales to support business decision making
  • Strong self-starter, energetic, proactive and a can-do mindset; strong communications skills, creative and innovative, able to drive change in concert with relevant stakeholders

TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and consultative skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing people, including those distributed across various locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with, and influence, all levels of staff, management and external service providers, both verbally and in writing, on a technical as well as non-technical level.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
