Senior Manager Cargo Network Planning Qatar Airways Doha

About the Job:

As a Senior Manager Cargo Network Planning, you will manage and develop Qatar Airways Cargo network planning department and profitably allocate freighter aircraft resource of Qatar Airways. You will monitor and optimize the flight schedule product within defined schedule publication timeliness for freighter aircraft. You will act as a mediator between QR Cargo, relevant regulatory bodies and QR Corporate Planning on all issues related to QR cargo.

 Accountabilities : 

Tactical & strategic : 

• Participates in the development of strategic business plans of the network planning activities and sets directions to achieve these.
• Maintain quality control over all network planning cases. 

Operational :

• Allocate optimal new freighter destination and announce with minimum of 6 months lead time.
• Allocate optimal number of freighter frequencies per destinations, allocate optimal equipment type per flight and allocate optimal flight timings.
• Lead Ad hoc network planning projects.
• Communicate with key stake holders to facilitate & secure current and future traffic rights for Qatar Airways Cargo.
• Identify potential new cargo markets around the network and continuously monitor existing markets to have a robust network operations plan. 

Management

• Develop department and team objectives aimed at supporting the strategic objectives of the cargo division.
• Provide knowledge driven leadership to the business and team.
• Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes if needed.

 

About You:

You will have vast amounts of experience working within the Corporate Planning function of a major cargo airline and should be in a leadership role. You should be a flexible leader with the ability to adapt to situations as and when they are presented. Previous experience of  3 to 5 years in network strategy, planning and scheduling in similar capacity for a major airline would be preferred.  

You will be degree qualified or equivalent preferably in logistics/airline ground operations . You will be accustomed to presenting to and interacting with senior management.  

You should be fully conversant with experience in combined ground operation in Freighter and passenger operations and, an extended knowledge with the 777F, A330F freighter aircraft will be advantageous.

You will be an outstanding leader and communicator and possess good presentation skills. You should be able to develop business cases using 7 step network planning building blocks, and have audit understanding and measurement management capabilities.
