General responsibilities of the position: The Engine Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management team (DPHM) is dedicated to providing end to end solutions to improve aircraft reliability while reducing operating costs. Today’s flight monitoring systems are designed to automatically record critical flight parameters and provide visibility to events or exceedances. This helps the operator to make informed decisions about preventive maintenance, thereby reducing unscheduled maintenance, lowering operating costs, and increasing aircraft availability. DPHM’s advance diagnostic solutions provides true value-added benefits that enable the operator to determine the best time to undertake maintenance on the engine and airframe. This can minimize costs by allowing for component repair instead of replacement and maximize engine time on wing.

Specific responsibilities of position: Lead development and validation of ground-based software applications related to new Turboprop aircraft engine programs. These software applications perform engine diagnostics and engine performance monitoring functions as well as communication with engine controller devices and recorder devices.
? Support development and implementation of all phases of the ground system software engineering life cycle including concept definition, requirement development, architecture, design, implementation, test, installation, system verification and validation and maintenance
? Define engine control system software re-programming requirements and lead coordination for software validation testing and deployment with third party suppliers
? Lead software project coordination, technical planning, requirements/data management, configuration management and risk assessments
? Develop project schedules and budgets and provide oversight on supplier contracts
? Manage Engine Maintenance Manual revisions and Support GBSLite software version releases for new engine program entry into service commitments
? Lead new software development requirements for Aircraft Converter and MonitorTM version releases to support new engine programs and enablement of Digital Engine Services
? Provide ground based systems engineering support to aircraft OEM customers
? Manage aerospace ground

Qualifications required: Bachelor or Master in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Software Engineering
Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of engineering experience required in the field of aviation with focus in system software design, development and certification
Strong knowledge of aerospace standards (ARINC 429, DO-178B/C, DO-278)
Experience with engine control systems and requirements writing
Extensive experience with MS Office applications including Sequel (SQL) Server database tools & Sharepoint 2013
Good teamwork skills, strong analytical skills and highly motivated
Proficient at handling several analytical tasks concurrently
Good understanding of turbine engine control and aircraft avionics systems
Strong program/project management and good oral and written communication skills
Experience with Agile development and SDLC processes knowledge
Bilingual (English / French)
Strong knowledge of software development process and software development tools (C/C++ and Python)
Experience with web technology (.NET, J2EE, XML, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Ajax, WebService/Restful)
Proficient in data modeling techniques and systems engineering projects
Experience with IT application architecture and design methodologies across multiple platforms (incl. LINUX server environments)
Understanding of diagnostic system connectivity and configuration management standards
