We have an opportunity for a Senior Flight Test Engineer located in Patuxent River MD.The candidate shall be the team leader working on a customer site at Naval Air Station Patuxent River providing technical support and evaluation of F/A avionic systems integration, modeling and simulation (M&S) analysis, and test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting support. Additionally the Senior FTE shall conduct liaison program support with other DoD agencies and contractors when supporting test and evaluation events Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Provide support in evaluation of the F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F and/or EA-18G Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) flight and ground test events which includes but is not limited to review of program documents, Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), Operational Test (OT) test plans, flight cards, Selected Acquisition Reports (SARs), deficiency reports, and final test reports. * Participate in and evaluate weapons systems operational utility in a variety of constructive and operator in the lop Modeling and Simulation (M&S) environments. * Assist in formulating test schedules, input for TEMPs, and test plans. * Attend test planning working group meetings and provide inputs to the Assistant Program Manager Test and Evaluation * Review and evaluate training and logistics support plans and other requirements for test programs, and provide recommended courses of action where deficiencies are noted. * Contribute to all aspects of the TEMP to including drafting TEMP comments, Part III, and applicable portions of Part IV. * Assist in the use of Mission-Based Test Design (MBTD) to develop OT test plans, assist in Early Operational Assessments (EOA), Operational Assessments, (OA), Joint Concept Technology Demonstrations (JCTD), Quick Reaction Assessments (QRA), Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E), and Follow-on Test and Evaluation (FOT&E), Verification and Correction Deficiencies (VCD). * Plan and design developmental test, draft flight cards, manage data delivery, and analyze the resulting data in order to obtain objective recommendations and conclusions for the Report of Test Results (RTR). * Perform data reduction and preliminary analysis of data to ensure validity prior to more detailed data processing. Assist the PMA when making assessments regarding specific risk areas based on the results of data analysis. Education and Experience Requirements * The candidate shall have a working knowledge of:F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F avionic systems such as Radar, AIM-120, Link 16 data link, Mission Planning, and SCS integration; and/or * For the EA-18G avionic systems such as the Active Electronic Attack sensor suite, (i.e., ALQ-218, ALQ-299, and Next Generation (NEXGEN) Jammer, AEA Mission Planning, and AEA SCS integration. * Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, or physics or equivalent experience * Seven (7) years of technical / management/development / integration experience with military weapon systems and/or operations, with three (3) of those years occurring within the last three (3) years. * Knowledge of DoD systems engineering requirements, acquisition policies, and Planning, Programming & Budgeting System (PPBS). * Knowledge and capability in planning, management, budgeting, coordination technical and contract reporting requirements. Security Clearance * This position will require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret with SCI Eligibility security clearance.
