Job Description
In this position you will, under minimal direction, provide technical product support (maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and upgrades) for the mission critical LGS Labs wireless communication product portfolio and 3rd party vendor(s) equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and upgrades of mission critical wireless communication products
* Conduct technical analysis, provide repair and updating of internal and field returned systems
* Support customer and factory level analysis and repair procedures for LGS wireless systems
* Install software and firmware on electronic systems
* Repair circuit board assemblies
* Support the R&D and manufacturing processes of LGS Innovations programs and projects
* Collaborate with design and test engineers to identify equipment or test setups for testing or characterization of components and subassemblies
* Assemble and modify test sets and design test fixtures as required by program
* Maintain laboratory equipment and work with suppliers to meet new equipment needs
* May participate in LGS and end user field trials providing technical support and repairs during trials as necessary
* Use Government Property Management (GPM) systems and procedures to accept, ship, and track all equipment coming into and leaving LGS facilities Perform administrative duties as necessary
* Directly interface with members of the technical staff, management, and customer personnel
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associates Degree in EET or closely related technical field and 6-8 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience 6-8 years of related experience in the development, testing, repair troubleshooting and maintenance of wireless communications systems
* Demonstrated ability to read and apply circuit board schematics and assembly drawings
* Demonstrated ability to use common electronic test equipment such as signal generators, analyzers, simulators, etc.
* Strong flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment with frequently changing opportunities and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
* Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
* Strong detail orientation
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
* Ability to work under minimal supervision and flexibility to adapt to change
* Strong teamwork skills
* A valid driver’s license is required as some off-site travel will be required
* An active Secret Clearance is required
* Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Communication systems experience in wireless protocols (CDMA, UMTS, GSM and other wireless protocols) is preferred
* Ability to utilize Labview and tools such as MATLAB is desirable
* Experience in military/intel sectors
