Job Description
As a Security Engineer at Sun Country Airlines Information Technology Department, you will provide technology expertise and support for our ever-growing network infrastructure, including design, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting reporting and upgrading hardware or services.
* Contribute in the analysis, design, testing, documentation, standardization, implementation/configuration and support of data networking components
* Consult and verify network standards/templates for various network sites have been met
* Provide 3rd level support for network infrastructure as required
* Optimize services to achieve enhancements in performance and availability while simultaneously achieving cost reductions
* Build trust through collaboration with a number of diverse teams on numerous projects
* Contribute to the definition of network architecture roadmaps
* Participates in large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
* Contribute to the on-call after hours’ rotation
* Participate in root cause analysis post mortem of Incidents and Problems
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required
* Participate in mentoring to others within the group with less experience
* Leads or participates in projects and meets established budgets and timeline
* Develop, document, and operate per Sun Country Security Policies, standards and proceduresBasic understanding of BGP routing, switching and firewall configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
* Strictly follows the established requirements of ITSM practice and principles (Incident, Problem, Change, Event)
* Participate in required security testing and official audit functions and be responsible for development of plans to remediate
* Mentor to others within the group with less experience
Required Skills
* Basic understanding of traffic logging and network performance management tools
* Proficient with implementation of network environments utilizing industry standards and best practices
* Proven track record with Large Network BGP MPLS routing
* Practical knowledge of Automation tools or scripting
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required
* Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Highly self-motivated
* Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
* Ability to present ideas at all levels of the organization in a business-friendly manner
* Collaborative, team-oriented working style
* Ability to mentor and coach peers
* Can receive and assimilate feedback in a professional manner
Required Experience
* 4+ years’ experience in Networking with at least 2+ years as Network Administrator or equal
* One of the following certifications or other certifications preferred CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE
