In your role, you will:

- Lead your projects and be accountable for their timely execution and completion.
- Achieve the operational goals of your team, such as the electrical design deliverables, data acquisition system and instrumentation selection, technical reports and ultimately perform commissioning and delivery of these systems to meet customer requirements.
- Establish and deploy operational objectives and manage team goals via the Performance Management Program.
- Establish, control and respect your work force and financial budgets.
- Implement and follow up on strategic improvements, problem solving and key technical initiatives.
- Implement talent acquisition initiatives.
- Ensure team members’ training and development.
- Check and approve the engineering documents produced by your team.
- Maintain and promote a positive working partnership with your customers and the various functions of Experimental Engineering and support the team in problem solving by eliminating roadblocks.
- Propose innovative industrial solutions to resolve design challenges.
- Communicate any major issues or roadblocks to the other Engineering functions and upper management.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
- Active Membre of the Ordre de Ingénieurs du Québec, OIQ.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electrical controls designer combined with commissioning and/or field equipment startup.
- You have extensive experience in automation, controls, PLCs and industrial computing.
- The ideal candidate should also have 3-5 years experience as a team lead or supervisory type role.
- The candidate must demonstrate initiative, leadership, a strong sense of responsibilities and integrity, as well as an excellent practical and technical judgment.
- The experience and knowledge of aerospace electrical engineering, such as aircraft wiring, avionic systems, aircraft databus protocols as well as data acquisition systems and instrumentation are desirable.
- Strong communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken, are essential.
