Services range from global ground handling, permits and crew accommodations to online flight planning and a fueling card program.
Universal has offices in over 20 countries throughout the world supporting clients that represent organizations that rely on corporate and private aircraft. Universal Aviation currently has an opening for a Local Safety & Training Manager.
General Responsibilities:
This position acts as the Company safety representative for Paris, and understands all aspects of ground handling including customer service, ramp operations and safety management systems. Responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks most of which are associated with aircraft ground handling or the support of a flight. This position is responsible for working with a variety of ground handling staff, government agents, vendors, customers and other cross-functional employees. This position is responsible for making sure that all services of ground handling are provided in a manner consistent with the Company’s Ground Handling Operations Manual, Safety Management System Manual and approved procedures as well as industry compliance standards. This position can perform all the duties of Lead Ramp Agent and Sr. Customer Service Agent.
Specific Responsibilities
Lead IS-BAH accreditation initiatives in Le Bourget
Monitor assigned location safety committee minutes.
Identify and evaluate adverse working conditions and recommend adjustments to the local Managing Director to safeguard employee safety.
Verify that local safety manuals and documentation complies with company’s policies, regulations and professional standards.
Assist the Regional Operations Director and the local Managing Director in responding to dangerous goods, hazardous waste and environmental issues.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Five years of experience on the ramp or in related area.
Familiar with a variety of the ground handling concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of safety, safety management systems and environmental codes and regulations required.
Ability to train in all areas of safety and health
High School or equivalent required.
Must possess valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) at a basic level.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Significant internal and external customer service skills required.
Able to communicate effectively in high stress environments.
Ability to travel
