Safety Systems Data Team Lead

The Role:

The role will be responsible for supporting Safety Systems in the processing and coordination of Safety Occurrence data and reporting in an effective, timely and accurate manner. Leading a team of Safety Data Administrators, the role will also be required to assist with developing safety reporting presentations and packs in support of monthly divisional safety meetings and the Executive Safety and Risk Review Committee. The role will work with relevant stakeholders to develop the systems and processes to enable the analysis and reporting of safety occurrence data across the Group and develop key relationships within the relevant Operational divisions across all AOCs and use influence to guide consistency in the approach of managing occurrence data.

Key Accountabilities

* Responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of data capture from safety information systems to identify risk and promote safety within Virgin Australia

* Use safety and risk data to generate reports to support analysis for audits, investigations, management reporting and special requests

* Monitor the data entry into Intelex and provide allocation of daily workloads for the Safety Data Administrators and the prioritising of entry of occurrences

* Provision and training to any new Safety Data Administrators / contractors in the processing of safety reports into the Aviation Safety database

* Responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy in the capturing of occurrences through routine data quality checking

* Running routine and adhoc data quality reports across Intelex

* Coordinating/Running daily ATSB/CASA reporting requirements in association with regulatory requirements

* Assist with the compilation of MSRRC, ESRRC, BSRRC packs

What you need to be successful:

* Previous experience in Aviation / Airline Safety

* Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS)

* Sound Understanding of Statistical analysis and processes for technical data

* Proficient in the administration of Aviation Safety database

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

* Previous experience in leading or coordinating a team with that works on monthly deadlines

* Previous experience in maintaining high level of accuracy in data quality within a database

* Previous experience in data, statistical and risk analysis
