Safety Programs Officer

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) is the largest provider of Fly-In-Fly Out charter services in Western Australia and has considerable experience operating both Charter and Regular Public Transport (RPT) services to small and remote communities.

About the role

We have a unique opportunity is for a Safety Programs Officer to be part of our Regional Network’s Safety Systems Department based in Perth. Reporting to the Safety Programs Manager, you act as the point of reference for VARA’s safety committees and provide administration and project support to the Safety Programs Team. You will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate safety programs, safety and risk governance and safety training and promotion to ensure improved safety and quality performance across VARA business units.

About you

Taking a service orientated approach, you will also be responsible producing and distributing meeting minutes and agendas, maintaining the safety team calendars and ensuring safety data is entered and maintained in our safety management system.

What you’ll need

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in an administration support role, ideally within safety. You will be passionate about Safety promotion and have strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the business. Previous experience with update data bases and working with safety management systems along with an understanding of risk management methodologies and best practice will see you excel in this role.
