Based out of Collingwood, Jetstar are recruiting for an experienced safety professional who will work in partnership with our operational business units to deliver exceptional safety performance. This role is pivotal in continuing to enhance our strong safety culture and practices across the business . The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver improved risk management processes in various operational functions as well as supporting the delivery of safety initiatives tailored to each operational business unit.

Reporting to the Manager Safety Integration, your main accountabilities will include:

• Act as a conduit between the business units and the safety department on specific initiatives, issues or emerging risks
• Build and sustain relationships that provide a productive and constructive network between JANZ Safety and Departmental partners that delivers effective working relationships.
• Delivery of a value-adding safety service to the business units through effective management of the safety integration team
• Facilitate safety workshops, assessments, safety improvement activities (finding and action management) and safety communications within business units
• Support the development of safety knowledge within business units and frontline personnel
• Ensure relevant business unit personnel are aware of their obligations and requirements with respect to the JAPM and OM9
• Support business units in the application of appropriate safety management processes such as occurrence management, audit and investigation administration

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Relevant safety systems training
• An airline operational qualification is desirable
• Post Graduate qualifications and/or membership of a recognised professional association would also be highly regarded
• Minimum of 5 years’ operational and/or safety risk management experience in a medium to large organisation required
• A high level of computer competency required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Facilitation and coaching skills
