About the role:

You will play a key role in ensuring all accounting related functions are maintained to a high level and with exceptional accuracy. This role will largely be focused around accounting entries, audit processes and reconciliation.
Your main responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

* Develop/maintain best practice systems and processes to ensure that flight, cargo and ancillary revenue is accounted for accurately and in a timely manner.

* Ensure appropriate controls are in place to ensure that all revenue is recorded in an accurate and timely manner and to minimize revenue leakage.

* As a business partner provide analysis, reporting solutions and project support to the operating segments within the Virgin Australia Group

* To foster an Internal Controls environment that ensures all revenue is timely and accurately recorded

About you:

We are ideally seeking someone who has strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. In this position, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate accounting and analysis along with assisting key stakeholders with meeting their objectives. You will also have strong problem solving and organisational skills along with effective communication and a resilient diligent nature.

What you’ll need:

* Qualified Chartered Accountant or CPA

* At least 3 years post graduate accounting experience, including completing month-end accounting procedures and working with multiple currencies

* Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

* A high level of computer literacy including intermediate to advanced MS Excel

* Prior experience with Oracle Financials, TM1, MS PowerQuery or Revenue Accounting systems would be beneficial

* Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

* Ticketing Airline or payments system experience would be advantageous
