Reporting Analytics Analyst Commercial Reporting

About the role:

The Business Insights and Reporting division supports the business to meet its strategic outcomes through the delivery of sophisticated insights, analysis and reporting. The Reporting and Analytics Team’s core responsibilities centre on the provision of high-quality, timely, accurate reporting and analytical support.

The Analyst contributes to Virgin Australia’s strategic direction, profitability and performance improvement by enhancing data availability and enabling/producing efficient intelligent reporting. Working with the Reporting and Analytics team and collaboratively with the Data Warehouse team, the Analyst will focus on extracting useful information from real-world data stored in multiple and disparate systems to enable meaningful and insightful business reporting.

The Analyst will provide business support to the Ecommerce and Sales teams on topics including the structure of data, data compliance and new data cleansing and verification, reporting, forecasting, campaign recipient creation, data modelling, and general data related tasks that require specialised skills. The specialised skills will include a mix of SAS, PostGreSQL, Oracle SQL Developer, R, Python, AWS Cloud Computing, Cognos, TM1.

About you:

You are passionate about data with a keen eye for detail. You think laterally to solve problems and love rolling up the sleeves to break problems down to the most granular level. You enjoy working as part of a fun team and also enjoy transferring your knowledge to those around you.

You have a proven track record working on technical initiatives using your skillset and can easily grasp key business concepts, connecting them back to the information you provide.
