Quality Safety Manager

Our client, a major aviation management company that has been operating in Dubai since 1994 is seeking a Quality & Safety Manager based in Dubai. This is a post holder position. 

Job description: 

Job Title: Quality & Safety Manager

Contract duration: Permanent 

Remuneration: 10,000 USD + multiple benefits.

 

Job Aim:

 

•  To design and implement the quality and safety system in the company
• To liaise with Managers and Staff throughout the organization to ensure proper functioning of the systems.
• Demonstrable and measured continuous improvement in safety and quality systems (Identification, Assessment and Implementation).
•  To monitor and advise on how the defined system is performing and internally publish data and reports w.r.t. quality and safety against set indicators
• Risk analysis and recommendation – technical, flight operations and commercial.

 

 Responsibilities:

Quality:

• Development and maintenance of the company Quality system policies and procedures
• Management of the company quality audit program
• Monitoring of contracted service providers to ensure the required standards are being met 
• Liaison with departmental managers concerning the correction of any deficiencies highlighted through the Quality system
• Monitoring the effectiveness of the Quality system
• Providing appropriate reports to the Accountable Manager and senior management on the performance of the Quality system
• Liaising with contracted goods and service providers regarding Quality matters
• Managing the Mandatory Occurrence Defect Reporting processes
• Acting as a focal point for all communication with the GCAA in respect to quality and certification matters
• Live update and maintenance of Hazard registry
• Aircraft Maintenance process:

a. JOMX Process to EASA standards 

b. JOMX Greater depth in management organization

c. Reliability programme

d. Legacy records of defects 

e. Measured enhancements of JOMX staff

f. Upgrades approvals to be able to maintain 13,000 WIPAIRE floats.

 

Safety:

• Recommend, formulate and implement safety policy and procedures
• Establish and communicate a detailed safety plan for the company
• Monitoring of Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Engineering & Maintenance, Flight Crew Training and Aviation Security departments for compliance with company policies and procedures
• Accident Prevention and Flight Safety implementation
• Jet-Ops Safety officer - broaden scope of safety review
• Coordinate and assure compliance with the Risk Assessment Program
• Conduct Annual Security and Safety Audits
• Incidents & Accidents - Reporting and investigating
• Survey and Campaign
• Implement, coordinate and instruct safety-related training program 

 

Desired Skills & Experience: 

Qualifications:

• Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence for at least 10 years or Degree in air engineering, science, management discipline.
• Successful completion of a Quality System Course, e.g. Auditor/ Lead Auditor course.

 

Experience:

• 5 years work experience in aircraft maintenance and repair environment (Line Maintenance, Component Workshops, Technical Support, Technical Records and Maintenance Planning).
• Experience in Management and Quality Control/ Quality Assurance activities of aircraft maintenance and repair organizations.
• Thorough knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation Legislation.
