Job Description

Wyman-Gordon Forgings, located in Cleveland, OH, forges a variety of parts such as valves, fittings, fuel system components, and various other industrial products, using materials ranging from standard carbon steel to exotic alloys. Founded in 1919, the former Drop Dies and Forgings Company was acquired by Wyman-Gordon parent company, Precision Castparts Corp., in December 2000.

QUALITY ENGINEER

Job Description

• Main point of contact with customers and the floor on all quality related issues and audits; point of contact for submittal of layouts.
• Help maintain and enforces Quality Systems operating procedures.
• Drives improvements in key business metrics including scrap / rework, cost of poor quality, and customer quality.
• Coordinates corrective and preventive actions of internal and external failures.
• Performs internal audits of quality systems.
• Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
• Responsible for preparing and executing on internal and external audit including NADCAP and ISO.
• Works in close conjunction with customers, Production Control, Engineering and other areas.
• Conduct contract review verification for new orders.
• Sign off on shipping paperwork / C of C’s.

Required Skills

• BS degree in engineering or technical field.
• Experience in auditing, root cause and corrective action processes desired.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS 9100, NADCAP.
• Strong organizational skills, statistical skills, and problem solving skills desired.
• Experience with interaction with customers, Engineering, manufacturing operations and Leadership on technical issues desired.

US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
