Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician


Aeropeople have an exciting new permanent opportunity for an experienced quality assurance technician at our prestigious aerospace and defence client based in Cambridgeshire.

Our client specialises in the conversion, modification, maintenance and support of civil and military aircraft, defence vehicle engineering, shelter manufacture, composite solutions and the provision of personnel, training and advice. They are renowned and respected worldwide for their quality of service, engineering excellence, flexibility and reliability.

Through a recent expansion program, they are looking to recruit an experienced quality assurance technician to join their successful manufacturing department.

As a quality assurance technician, you will:

* Audit components, sub-assemblies and finished products at process stages to ensure the delivered items meet the appropriate specification and company workmanship standards.
* Conduct inspections of supplied components and finished products against drawings and appropriate specifications.
* Investigate any quality issues to identify route cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed.
* Conduct and manage appropriate tests to verify product and component performance.
* Create Production Route cards to record as build status of products and assemblies.
* Collate and archive product End Item data packs.
* Undertake calibration of personnel hand tools.
* Manage manufacturing master drawings to ensure build standard control is maintained on assigned projects.
* Produce management feedback on performance in areas of responsibility.
* Carry out ATS on completed assemblies and products.

Key skills:

* Must be competent in use of basic measuring equipment e.g. vernier, micrometer etc
* Weld Inspection experience to CSWIP3.0 (or willing to obtain)
* Operating in an ISO9001 Quality Systems environment for at least 5 years.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Including: - MIG and TIG welding, joining technology, metal fabrication techniques, electrical and pneumatic systems, machining techniques, Assembly and painting systems.
* Use computer packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Knowledge of inspection and auditing techniques.
* Good written and verbal communication to clearly express views and ideas.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of quality inspection and auditing principles.
* Hold a full UK driving license
