Position Description

Performs in-process and final inspections of engines, nacelles, components and parts to verify correct completion in compliance with the approved data and customer requirements. Duties will also include product receiving inspection, preservation, packaging and container inspections. Responsible for the certification of products, on behalf of the company, for return to service. Provides customer service notification of final acceptance of product and documentation for all customers as required.

Quality Inspection Function (80%):

• Performs receiving inspections of customer assets as required and documents discrepancies for reporting back to customers.
• Performs the final inspection of the completed product, includes both a physical and documentation review.
• Confirms the modification status, ensuring compliance to the customer requirements.
• Verifies the correct configuration and identification of the end product.
• Reviews historical log records for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews for completion and accuracy of non-conformance tag/material review board (NCT/MRB) documentation.
• Ensures compliance to the applicable quality procedures affecting the final product and associated documentation.
• Compiles discrepancy data of customers’ non-conformances or fix on the spot snags and communicates this to the respective Chief Inspector.
• Participates in continuous improvement processes.
• Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
• Performs pre-shipment inspections: a) Containers for serviceability (metal, wood, cardboard, as applicable) b) Proper packaging IAW customers special packaging instructions (SPI) c) Container packaging, preservation, shipping markings and documents.
• Carries out other duties as assigned, to include but not limited to:
o Assisting Chief Inspector(s) as necessary.
o Performing quality investigations.
o Validating CARs and following up as needed.
o Performs or leads ISO Audit and Process Audit.

Customer Service Function (20%):

• Works with all departments across the organization in resolving product or documentation issues.
• Receives, evaluates and answers customer, internal organization or sales force inquiries regarding a variety of quality or service issues.
• Develops and maintains the business relationship with assigned customers. Hosts and coordinates customer visits.
• Responds promptly to customer requests and requirements, including coordinating requirements for field service personnel.
• Expedites the resolution by investigating customer problems/complaints.
• Responsible for observing and reporting any issues or concerns in support of the company-wide quality, environmental and Safety Management System (SMS) policies.
Position Requirements

• Working knowledge of company instructions.
• Working knowledge of the current company operating system environment such as SA Menu, as well as, use of Microsoft office and has the ability to adapt to changes in technology (both hardware and software).
• Knowledge of products, engines, nacelles and accessories in respective business unit/site and technical skills appropriate to role.
• Qualified in the detail and quality inspection functions with at least 2 years experience as a Detail Inspector and 4 years experience as Quality Inspector.
• Holds related certifications in detail and quality inspection.
• Knowledgeable in the configuration and assembly of the products processed in the organization.
• Knowledgeable in the assembly methods and techniques used.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Proficient in dimensional inspection techniques.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the applicable regulatory requirements relating to maintenance of aeronautical products.
• Knowledgeable on the documentation completion requirements.
• Knowledgeable in the quality requirements relating to the production process.
• Familiar with the AS9110 standard and can navigate through and understands the company ISO documents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
• Must be a authorized to work in the US.
