Description

Reporting to the Director, Data and Digital Content, the Project Manager, Operational Data Management is responsible for driving the BIS Operational Data Management initiatives which include multiple projects in the aviation operations sector. This position owns the market validation, project management, solution development and industry stakeholder management aspects of these projects. This position supports the Director, Data and Digital Content in managing the overall project portfolio and the relationship with key partners within and outside of IATA. The incumbent will work closely with internal SMEs and Industry partners in seeking innovative solutions to generate value in the operational data domain.

Responsibilities

* Project Management – owns the end-to-end project initiation and delivery process. It includes preparing the business cases, managing internal approval process, submitting management and financial reports, managing budget and expenses, perform documentation and tracking and finally managing key milestones and final deliverables.
* Market Validation – conduct market research and perform market validation including organizing workshops, interviews, speaking at industry events etc. Responsible for identifying and managing qualified SMEs in preparing market research and validation reports. Prepare presentations, dashboard and use cases. Design, test and acquire necessary data and technical details needed for validation.
* Solution Development – Owner of BRD and SRS. Manage relationship with CPS and ITS. Manage RFP and MSA finalization with Procurement and Legal.
* Stakeholder Management – Engage regularly with SMEs and industry experts in each project domain. Participate in committee discussions and present the project on behalf of BIS. Responsible for establishing alignment and exploring synergy with related departments and solution owners.
* Provide ad-hoc support to Director, Data and Digital Content as required.

Qualifications and Skills

* University degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Aviation Management, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree;
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing medium to large projects with proven project management skills and excellent results;
* Solid experience in Aviation Operations is a strong asset;
* In-depth understanding of business Intelligence, IT communication and underlying technology;
* A Proven track record in working with senior management and managing budget;
* High-level attention to detail and process-driven with strong sense of ownership;
* Excellent inter-personal skills. Must be a strong team player with an open mindset. Culturally sensitive;
* Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with excellent time-management skills; Fast learner;
* Excellent presentation skills with solid experience in speaking to large audience on complex subjects.
