About The Job

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Information Technology Division. The Programmer-Analyst/Web Developer’s role is to work closely with project managers, business leaders, and development team members to deliver cloud-based web solutions for departments within American Airlines. The development team is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications, as well as customization and integration of 3rd party software. Key technologies include .NET and SQL Server within the Microsoft Cloud with exposure to others such as AngularJS, React, NodeJS, and Azure Container Services.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* Develop, deploy, conduct quality assurance testing, debug/refactor, and document technology solutions

* Support, maintain, and administer deployed solutions

* Ensure security of all data and technology solutions

* Formulate plan outlining steps required to develop program using structured analysis and design

* Review, replace, delete, or modify codes to correct errors

* Analyze, review, and alter program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* ​Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

* 3 years of Microsoft .NET programming experience

* 3 years of experience defining user requirements

Preferred Qualifications

* ​5 years of Microsoft .NET programming experience

* Airline Industry experience

* Experience with front-end user interface design (e.g., HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap)

* Experience with key technologies, such as .NET and SQL Server within the Microsoft Cloud, as well as AngularJS, React, NodeJS, Azure Container Services, Visual Studio, C#, and SSIS

* Experience in Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

* Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM

* Experience with Test Driven Development

* Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

* Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)

* Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (Microsoft, Tableau, or Cognos)

* Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups

* Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills

* Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
