Position Description:

Set up, configure, program, support, maintain, and repair audio/video systems, control systems, video conferencing systems, and other electronic system integration solutions based on blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

Work with in-house engineers, designers, field technicians and other programmers to ensure functional and dependable systems are deployed by the Company. Some initial setup and configurations would be done in the shop.

Assist installation technicians in the final commissioning of audiovisual systems; attend final sign off meetings with consultants, engineers, and customer representatives if needed. Assist, as needed, with final programming adjustments, code pushes, room tunings, etc., in the field at jobsites. These jobsites may be located anywhere in the US and occasionally out of the Country, but primarily will be located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Attend all appropriate audiovisual design/engineering seminars and training sessions and remain current on all applicable issues. Maintain a working knowledge of products and services and an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect the audiovisual market.

Perform system upgrades/downgrades and educate customer on systems. Install/push firmware and software as necessary. Remotely assist installation technicians when necessary.

Assist to maintain equipment, analyze and diagnose system malfunctions.

Consistently meet to productivity schedule, quality and safety standards as instructed by the company.

Keep all certifications up to date and obtain new/additional certifications as necessary to keep up to date with changing audio-visual technology.

Position Requirements:

Education Requirements: Associates degrees with emphasis in Electronics or Computer Science, 3-5 years of related experience with audio visual installations. Must have experience or certifications (including programming certifications) with at least one (preferably more) of the following: Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC, Biamp (Nexia, Tesira, Vocia), Cisco, Luxul and others. CTS and/or CTS-I or CTS-D certifications preferred. Certifications or proven experience with Dante, AVB, AES67, QLAN, CobraNet and VoIP would be a plus. A strong understanding of Ethernet networks, in general, including managed switch configuration, OSI layers, unicast and multicast, and QOS. A strong understanding of current AV streaming formats would also be helpful; these would include but not be limited to all current AVoIP standards. A strong understanding of all iterations of HDBaseT is also an expectation.

Skills:
Candidate must possess working knowledge of electronics, networks and should have had practical experience with audio and video installations. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions for customer audio-visual systems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and blue prints. Ability to speak effectively to customers, contractors or employees of organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must for this position.
