Program Manager - R&T Advanced Manufacturing

Job description

My client in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity to join our R&T Department supporting strategic Research and Technology projects and Advanced Manufacturing.

Candidate skills and requirements

This exciting challenge is responsible for defining and establishing the strategic 5 year road map of both the financial and technical aspects for Research and Technology and Advanced Manufacturing programmes.

You will be adept at working within a matrix organisation, having multiple internal stakeholders from Manufacturing Managers to VPs of interested departments across multiple and global sites. Whilst this role has no direct reports, you will have many indirect reports, for example, from the Programme managers internally to project teams working with our partners.

You must be able to form strong links with external partners, which may include research centres, Universities and Government funding agencies through to National technology centres, OEMs and IP Partners. Your involvement with external parties will require the successful candidate to lead commercial negotiations (whilst being supporting by Procurement/Legal colleagues).

You should have a keen eye for potential return on investment and will manage a 7-figure investment annual budget (EURO) and be expected to be able to report and forecast against target projects and create a strong business case to support internal and external positioning of the benefits to all stakeholders.

This position requires an individual to realise the value of investment and drive the projects forward to successful conclusion in a commercially relevant timeframe.
You will demonstrate a passion for technology and be comfortable in presenting our roadmap during major internal reviews (to Board level) external events (Air Framers, Partner conferences, etc.)

Being a globally focussed role, the ideal candidate will be multi-lingual (English and French fluency) and adept at working in a multicultural environment and also have an appreciation of international business and research funding.

If you are interested in this position or would like to find out more then please get in contact with me either via or call me on.
